Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gjuro Gjuric (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karl Mildenberger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gjuro Gjuric!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Karl Mildenberger!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mildenberger avoids a kick to the body.
Mildenberger doesn't manage to clinch there - Gjuric circles away.
A big left from Mildenberger misses.
Mildenberger throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Gjuric closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Gjuric is keen to just control but Mildenberger is a slippery customer.
Mildenberger is concentrating on defense, preventing Gjuric from advancing position.
Gjuric not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Mildenberger is trying to stand.

Gjuric looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gjuric in particular looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mildenberger wants to improve his position but Gjuric is controlling well.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Mildenberger stuffs the takedown attempt from Gjuric. Gjuric gets slowly back to his feet.

Mildenberger takes the fight into the clinch.

Mildenberger tightens his grip and picks Gjuric up, before dumping him to the ground. Gjuric manages to land in guard.
Mildenberger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gjuric. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gjuric is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gjuric thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Gjuric manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gjuric wants to control the pace but Mildenberger is squirming around nicely.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gjuric can't control as he wanted to and Mildenberger manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
Mildenberger is refusing to be controlled, as Gjuric sits in half guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Mildenberger motions for Gjuric to come forward. Mildenberger throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Gjuric rushes Mildenberger and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Mildenberger is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Gjuric gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Gjuro Gjuric will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


No luck for Gjuric with that takedown attempt.
Gjuric dives in and grabs Mildenberger's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mildenberger pushes down on Gjuric's head and hops out.
Gjuric tries to clinch but Mildenberger is having none of it.
Karl Mildenberger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mildenberger throws a wild body kick that Gjuric sees coming a mile off.

Mildenberger closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Gjuric takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gjuric tries to buck Mildenberger off but Mildenberger is having none of it.

Mildenberger tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Mildenberger shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mildenberger showed some decent athleticism there.
Mildenberger thows a huge punch but Gjuric dodges it nicely.
Mildenberger content to control rather than advance.
Gjuric is trying to maintain the position but Mildenberger is very close to passing his half guard.

Gjuric is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mildenberger pulls his head out easily.

Gjuric is refusing to be controlled, as Mildenberger sits in half guard.

Mildenberger is taking a breather. Gjuric says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Gjuric has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mildenberger is working away from the top position though.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Mildenberger has a takedown stuffed.
Gjuric throws a head kick that Mildenberger semi-blocks.

Mildenberger takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Gjuric tries to clinch up.
Gjuric ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gjuric.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gjuro Gjuric. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gjuric takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Mildenberger throws a lazy head kick

and Gjuric counters with a single leg into guard. Mildenberger didn't expect that.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gjuric seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mildenberger does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Karl Mildenberger showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!



Gjuric closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mildenberger did well to prevent Gjuric getting side control.
Gjuric wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mildenberger keeps working.

Mildenberger tries to hold on but Gjuric pushes him away.

Mildenberger is squirming around, avoiding Gjuric's attempts to control the action.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Gjuric drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gjuric jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fight stays on the outside here - Mildenberger looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
