Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dean Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pipi Kali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dean Reed has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dean Reed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pipi Kali!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Reed closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Reed lands in his opponent's guard.
Reed tries to free his leg and advance position but Kali is retaining full guard.
Reed throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kali works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Reed stops Kali from standing up.
Reed thows a big elbow that misses.
Reed missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Reed throws and elbow that misses. Kali uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Reed's guard. Nice move by Kali!

Kali avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kali really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reed. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Reed has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kali can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Reed had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kali defends it easily.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Reed gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Reed uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kali.

Reed feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kali can do anything to dispel that myth.
Reed stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kali swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Reed makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Reed has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Reed drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Reed jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kali is breathing heavily.

Reed thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Reed drops back looking for a leg! Kali is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kali manages to kick Reed off! Reed jumps back into Kali's guard.

Reed is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kali avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Reed throwing strikes but missing.
Kali utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Reed keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kali.
Reed uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kali.

Reed shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Reed sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kali's guard.

Reed is working for a kimura but Kali is defending it quite comfortably.

Reed thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kali's head.

Reed is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kali sees it coming and defends easily.

Reed is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kali has managed to free his arm - good work.
Reed thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Reed is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Kali is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
