PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Whitebraker Sirius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rarpo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sirius comes to the cage accompanied by 50 Cent & Eminem - Psycho. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Whitebraker Sirius!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rarpo Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Alexandre Firmino.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie drops his hands momentarily and Sirius takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
A punch lands to the side of Gracie 's head but he takes it in his stride.
A slapping leg kick lands for Gracie.
Sirius looks to land a combination but Gracie avoids it well.
Sirius scores with a one two! Gracie had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sirius napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Gracie sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Sirius is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Sirius is trying to work for a sweep but Gracie has mounted him!
Sirius wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Gracie.
Sirius tries to reverse the position but Gracie maintains control.
Sirius avoids a series of strikes thrown by Gracie.
Sirius stops Gracie from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Gracie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Gracie is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Gracie is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Sirius has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Gracie misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Gracie throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Sirius because Gracie loaded up on that one.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Gracie with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Sirius has given up his back here. Will Gracie look for the submission or keep pounding away?

Gracie seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Sirius's chin but Sirius turns very nicely into Gracie's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Sirius.

Sirius wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.

Sirius will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Sirius is posturing up here but Gracie has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Sirius tries to roll out but it's too tight and Sirius has to tap! Slick submission there by Gracie!
