Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cain Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erik Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mir comes to the cage accompanied by Sub-Mission. Williams has chosen Devour - Shinedown as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Cain Mir!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Erik Williams!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, William Gold and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mir lands with a nice body kick.
Williams misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mir lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Williams circles away quickly and effectively.
Mir throws a head kick that Williams semi-blocks.
Williams has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Mir.
Williams lands the left hand.
Williams throws a jab but it's blocked by Mir.
A solid leg kick lands there for Mir.
Williams moves out of range of the body kick from Mir.
Mir feints and then cracks Williams's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Williams down.
Williams moves out of range of the strikes.
Williams throws a shot from downtown. Mir moves away and avoids it.
Williams swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Mir uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Williams.
Williams takes a swing at Mir's ribcage but misses.
Williams thows a leg kick but Mir checks it

and Mir counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Williams's guard now.

Mir postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Williams is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mir, into his guard.

Mir has control of Williams's left arm, preventing Williams from doing any damage.

Mir escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Williams gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Mir has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Williams can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mir has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Williams is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mir.

Williams tries to free his leg and advance position but Mir is retaining full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Williams tries to roll over but Mir keeps him under control.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Mir has Williams pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Mir pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Williams tumbling to the mat - Mir dives into Williams's guard.

Mir seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Williams does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Williams got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mir has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Williams has managed to get both his arms back between Mir's legs - danger averted.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Williams looks to land a combination but Mir avoids it well.
Mir moves out of range of the strikes.
Mir takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Mir throws a series of strikes that have Williams backpedaling.

Mir has closed the distance and engaged Williams in a clinch.
Williams stops a takedown attempt from Mir.
Williams gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mir.
Williams trying to control the position but instead, Mir has worked for underhooks and has pushed Williams into the cage.
Williams has had enough of the clinch but Mir keeps him there for the moment.
Erik Williams has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Williams's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mir tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Williams paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mir, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
