The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Calvio takes the fight into the clinch.
Bacon scores with a shoulder strike.

It looks like Victor Calvio has been cut.
Calvio tries for a takedown but Bacon manages to get underhooks.

Calvio is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Bacon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Calvio works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Calvio on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Calvio tries to get out of the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Calvio throws a hook but Bacon blocks it.
A jab from Bacon does it's job there.

The crowd cheers as Bacon lands an impressive looking overhand right. Calvio doesn't seem phased though.

Calvio postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bacon is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Calvio, into his guard.

Calvio is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Bacon pushes Calvio off and gets back to his feet.

Victor Calvio's cut is getting worse.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Calvio throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bacon's waist but Bacon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Calvio off to one side.
Calvio doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Calvio shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bacon's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Bacon moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Calvio changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bacon looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Bacon is looking for a triangle but Calvio pushes his legs off easily.

Calvio drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bacon manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Calvio has Bacon in his guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bacon postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Bacon wants to control from the top but Calvio keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Calvio shoots in and bounces Bacon off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Calvio is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bacon doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Calvio.
