Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock Lessman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luiz Carlos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lessman comes to the cage accompanied by Mortal Sin - Into The Fire. Luiz Carlos is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lessman drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Carlos throws a good cross that connects.
Carlos tries to clinch but Lessman is having none of it.
Lessman throws a right and a left that both miss.
Carlos shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lessman as he avoids it easily.
Lessman looks to land a combination but Carlos avoids it well.
Carlos shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lessman as he jumps to the side.
Lessman throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Carlos has managed to clinch.

Lessman pulls guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lessman is on top in guard.
Lessman throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Carlos should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Lessman postures up in Carlos's guard and throws a big left but Carlos blocks it.

Carlos wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Lessman decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Carlos forces Lessman back against the cage and clinches.

Carlos manages to break the clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Lessman.

and Lessman counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lessman.
Brock Lessman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luiz Carlos.
Lessman tries to free his leg and advance position but Carlos is retaining full guard.

Lessman is standing up over Carlos. Carlos looks to escape but Lessman dives into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lessman lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Carlos down.
Carlos tries to improve position but can't.

Lessman working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Lessman creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Carlos sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Lessman is working Carlos over with some ground and pound from side control.
Carlos is trying to control Lessman's posture but Lessman avoids it.
Carlos prevents Lessman from improving position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Carlos closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lessman to the mat! Lessman manages to get full guard.

Carlos is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Lessman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Brock Lessman will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Lessman shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Carlos holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Carlos tries to pull guard but Lessman won't allow it.

Carlos is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Lessman can't fight it off and eventually Carlos manages to take the fight to the floor. Lessman looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Carlos would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Carlos lands a couple of digs.
Carlos works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lessman kicks off Carlos and gets to his feet.
Carlos dives in and grabs Lessman's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lessman pushes down on Carlos's head and hops out.

Carlos fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Brock Lessman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luiz Carlos.
Carlos tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Carlos pulls guard effortlessly.
Lessman passes Carlos's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Lessman takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Carlos tries to kick Lessman off but Lessman keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Carlos is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Carlos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lessman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lessman is keen to just control but Carlos is a slippery customer.

Lessman stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Carlos to get to his feet.
Carlos fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lessman.
Carlos lands with an overhand left.
Carlos is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lessman sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Lessman feints and as Carlos raises his hands in defense, Lessman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carlos can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lessman gets to his feet - Carlos follows without any prompting.
Carlos keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Lessman.

Lessman wants to get back to his feet.

Lessman tries to roll over but Carlos keeps him under control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Lessman is staying active underneath Carlos, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lessman scrambles and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Brock Lessman will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Lessman misses with a takedown

and Carlos counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Lessman!

Lessman misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Lessman is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Lessman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Carlos with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Carlos pushes Lessman off looking to stand but Lessman dives back in and keeps control.
Lessman drops an elbow to the side of Carlos's head.
Carlos is trying to get back to full guard.
Lessman thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Carlos's head.

Lessman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Carlos is just riding it out for now. Lessman eventually gives up the hold.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A combination from Lessman does no damage.
Lessman takes one on the button.

Lessman shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Carlos is looking to escape.
Lessman throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Carlos wants to get back to full guard.
Lessman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Carlos does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Carlos wants to control but Lessman is keeping busy.
Brock Lessman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A head kick misses from Carlos.
Carlos keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A nice combination there by Lessman.
Carlos fails with the takedown.
Brock Lessman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lessman shoots in looking for a takedown. Carlos tries to sprawl out of it but Lessman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carlos manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brock Lessman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Carlos dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Lessman. That did some damage!
Luiz Carlos has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Brock Lessman is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Lessman wants to control but Carlos is keeping him busy.

I would just about give that final round to Luiz Carlos.
I think Lessman has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
