PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ultimate Warrior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Penn comes to the cage accompanied by Everything in it's right place. The key to victory for James Penn has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Penn !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ultimate Warrior!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Warrior thows a left - swing and a miss!

Warrior closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Penn to the mat! Penn manages to get full guard.
Penn is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Warrior wants to control from the top but Penn keeps moving.
Warrior thows a big elbow that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Warrior stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Penn swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Warrior trying to control the position from guard on top but Penn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Penn kicks Warrior off and gets to his feet.
Penn scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
A solid body kick from Penn .
Warrior shoots in but Penn avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A slapping body kick lands there for Penn .
Nice takedown defense from Penn . No joy for Warrior on that attempt.
Penn lands with a slapping head kick.

Warrior scores with a takedown into Penn 's guard.
Penn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Penn wants to get back to his feet but Warrior is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Penn on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Penn tries to get out of the position.
Warrior throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Penn works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Penn wants to stand up but Warrior is controlling him.
Warrior throws a big right hand that misses.
Warrior controlling from the top position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Penn looks to land a combination but Warrior avoids it well.
Warrior tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Penn was well out of range. Poor timing from Warrior.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Penn throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Penn uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Warrior.
Warrior waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Penn .
Warrior shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
James Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ultimate Warrior.
Penn lands a head kick. Warrior smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
A slapping body kick lands there for Penn .
Penn lands a high kick!
Penn lands a head kick!
Penn keeps Warrior at a distance using the push kick.
Penn throws a front kick that sends Warrior stumbling back into the cage.
Penn connects with a high kick.
Warrior shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Penn but Penn pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Warrior closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Penn gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Warrior to score an easy takedown into full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Penn wants to get back to his feet but Warrior is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Warrior's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Warrior controlling from the top position.
Warrior must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Penn pushes Warrior off and gets back to his feet.
Penn is breathing heavily.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Warrior takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Warrior shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Warrior closes the distance and clinches up with Penn , looking for a takedown. Warrior pushes Penn against the cage but Penn circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Warrior misses with an uppercut. Penn saw that one coming.
Penn goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Warrior misses with a hook. Penn ducked under it nicely.
Penn displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Warrior.
James Penn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Penn throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Warrior throws the left hand but Penn avoids the punch easily.

Warrior feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Penn is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Warrior throwing strikes but missing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Penn dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Warrior throws a body punch but Penn moves out of range.
Nice uppercut there from Warrior.
A head kick from Penn lands but Warrior takes it in his stride.
Warrior throws a body punch but Penn moves out of range.
Warrior throws a jab when Penn was well out of range.
Penn avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Warrior fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Warrior misses with a body shot.
Warrior has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Warrior scores with a takedown into Penn 's guard.
Penn is looking to stand up but Warrior isn't so interested in that idea.
Warrior wants to control from the top but Penn keeps moving.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

That's one minute gone in the round.

Penn is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Penn tries to circle away but Warrior has him pinned against the cage.

Warrior has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Penn clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Warrior is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Penn . He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
Warrior is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Warrior gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Warrior gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Warrior apologises and we restart here on the feet.


It looks like James Penn has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Penn lands with a kick to the temple. Warrior shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Penn scores with a push kick.
Warrior blocks a head kick by Penn .
Warrior gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Penn .
Warrior misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Warrior misses with a wild body shot.
Nice defenses there by Penn .

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Penn slips a jab from Warrior.

Warrior changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Penn looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Penn is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Warrior lands some shots froms side control.
Warrior connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Penn some visible discomfort.


James Penn 's cut is getting worse.
Penn wants to get back to his feet.
Warrior trying to control the position but Penn is working away.
Warrior scores with a couple of short elbows.


James Penn 's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at James Penn 's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Ultimate Warrior!
