Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mark Challenger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ferdynand Kiepski!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Challenger with that takedown attempt.

Challenger decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kiepski tries to kick Challenger off but Challenger keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Challenger looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Kiepski wants to control but Challenger is keeping busy.
Kiepski pushes Challenger off looking to stand but Challenger dives back in and keeps control.
Kiepski slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Challenger gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Kiepski shoots and misses

and Challenger counters by clinching up.

Challenger's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Challenger moves into range and clinches up with Kiepski.
Kiepski has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Challenger avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Challenger fails to pull guard.
Challenger putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Kiepski in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Kiepski has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Challenger clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Challenger tries to escape but Kiepski has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Kiepski gets his hands free as Challenger looks to control.
Challenger is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kiepski is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Challenger wants to get back to his feet.
Kiepski has the hooks in. Challenger is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kiepski is controlling the position but Challenger somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Challenger fails in his attempt to clinch.
Challenger shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Kiepski counters by moving into the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Challenger. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kiepski is pushing Challenger up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Kiepski manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Challenger stands and throws Kiepski's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Kiepski is trying to control Challenger's posture but Challenger avoids it.

Challenger trying to control the position but Kiepski is working away.
Kiepski manages to work his way to half guard, despite Challenger's best efforts.

Challenger thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mark Challenger will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Challenger rushes Kiepski and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Challenger unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Kiepski throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Kiepski cracks Challenger with a nice body shot.
Challenger landing knees to the body.

Kiepski gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Challenger is looking to control Kiepski's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Challenger avoid being mounted?
Challenger is looking for a sweep. Kiepski is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Challenger trying to control here.
Challenger tries to kick Kiepski off but Kiepski keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kiepski has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kiepski landing strikes from the mount and Challenger is in trouble!

Kiepski with shots to the head and body - Challenger looks very uncomfortable down there.
Challenger is working to get back to half guard.
Kiepski can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Challenger is looking to escape.
Challenger is trying desperately to improve position.
A nice elbow there by Kiepski.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Challenger is just holding on here. Kiepski manages to take his back.
