The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sclerosis gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows McDermott to score an easy takedown into full guard.
McDermott tries to free his leg and advance position but Sclerosis is retaining full guard.
McDermott wants to control from the top but Sclerosis keeps moving.
McDermott wants to stand but Sclerosis is controlling his posture from full guard.
McDermott wants to pass the guard but Sclerosis is keeping the position.
McDermott trying to control the position from guard on top but Sclerosis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

McDermott rushes Sclerosis and presses him up against the cage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
McDermott blocks the elbow strike.

McDermott tightens his grip and picks Sclerosis up, before dumping him to the ground. Sclerosis manages to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McDermott looking to sit in guard and control but Sclerosis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
McDermott is adopting a defensive guard.

McDermott might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sclerosis kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Sclerosis got a little sloppy there for a moment and McDermott has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sclerosis has managed to get both his arms back between McDermott's legs - danger averted.
Sclerosis won't allow McDermott to sweep him here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

McDermott looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Sclerosis is defending well. McDermott quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Sclerosis has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! McDermott celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
