Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shim Sham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rich Thorburn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rich Thorburn!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thorburn rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sham moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sham moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Thorburn tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sham was well out of range. Poor timing from Thorburn.
Some wild striking there from Thorburn.
Thorburn misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sham slips a jab and a cross from Thorburn.
Sham on the wrong end of a nice jab.
A left lands for Sham.
Thorburn looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Sham lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.


It looks like Rich Thorburn has been cut.
Sham staying out of range there.
Sham throws the left hand but Thorburn avoids the punch easily.
Thorburn takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sham lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Thorburn falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Shim Sham!
Shim Sham retains his light heavyweight title!
