Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bert Ernie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josey Wales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Bert Ernie!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Josey Wales!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wales shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ernie's guard.
Wales stands and throws Ernie's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Wales is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Ernie is trying to get back to half guard.
Wales is staying tight to Ernie's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Ernie tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Wales easily slips into full mount!
Wales avoids the attempt from Ernie to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ernie is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Wales lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Ernie's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Wales fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ernie wants to clinch up but Wales keeps it at a distance.

Ernie drops back, looking for a kneebar! Wales looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Wales looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Wales!

Wales changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ernie looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Ernie has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Wales is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Ernie.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Wales shoots in and drives through. Ernie sprawls well.
Ernie fails with an attempt to clinch.
Wales lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ernie circles away quickly and effectively.

Well Wales has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
