Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, William Head!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, R The ghost!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Daniel Blasius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Head clinches up against the cage.
The ghost misses with an elbow over the top.
The ghost throws an elbow but it misses.
The ghost creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Head avoids the elbow strike from The ghost, against the cage.
A nice glancing elbow lands by The ghost.
The ghost creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Head's defenses.
A bit of stalling here from The ghost.
The ghost is pressed up against the cage. Head has hold of a leg and is looking to drag The ghost down to the mat. The ghost avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
The ghost takes one to the side of the head.


It looks like R The ghost has been cut.

The ghost rushes Head and presses him up against the cage.
A nice glancing elbow lands by The ghost.
Head is trying to work for a single leg takedown but The ghost pulls him back up using the underhooks.
The ghost lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.


It looks like William Head has been cut.
The ghost content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Head is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for William Head. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Head pulls guard successfully.
Head controls The ghost momentarily but The ghost frees himself.

Head has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but The ghost can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Head has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes The ghost off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

The ghost looks to clinch

and Head counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in The ghost's guard now.
Head throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as The ghost works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Head stands and steps away. The ghost gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
The ghost fails with an attempt to clinch.
The ghost is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

The ghost gets a clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by The ghost.
The ghost misses with an elbow over the top.
The ghost displaying some good clinch control by pressing Head up against the cage.
Head fails to pull guard.

Head goes for a takedown attempt but The ghost pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Head changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. The ghost tries to avoid it but Head manages to keep hold of a leg and drag The ghost to the ground. The ghost escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
The ghost takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Head tries to land a front kick but The ghost steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Head misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
The ghost tries to clinch
and Head counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Head misses with a wild body shot.

The ghost rushes Head and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Head is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
The ghost creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Head is working for takedown but The ghost is calmly controlling the position for now.
Head blocks the elbow strike.
Head can't get the takedown.
The ghost lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Head jumps guard and drags The ghost to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The ghost postures up.

Head throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Head is breathing heavily.
The ghost trying to stand up but can't free himself from Head's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Head tries to land a sweep but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

William Head dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Head is defended easily by The ghost.

The ghost misses with an elbow strike.
Head can't get the takedown.

Head wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but The ghost has him pressed against the cage.

Head has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. The ghost is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

The ghost darts in trying to clinch
and Head counters with a head kick. That will keep The ghost thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

The ghost closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The ghost lands an elbow inside.
Head is looking for a takedown up against the cage. The ghost gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

The ghost gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
The ghost is pressed up against the cage. Head has hold of a leg and is looking to drag The ghost down to the mat. The ghost avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
R The ghost seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Head counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The ghost has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Head is working away from the top position though.
The ghost wants to get back to his feet.
Head missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Head thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed The ghost's head.
Head not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The ghost keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

The ghost wants to control but Head is keeping busy.

Head stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
The ghost doesn't manage to clinch there - Head circles away.
The ghost avoids a punch combination nicely.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as The ghost checks a leg kick.
The ghost is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Head throws a head kick but The ghost moves out of range.
Head scores with a body shot.

Head bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Head is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. The ghost is trying to escape and Head transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and The ghost is forced to tap! Nice work there by Head! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). William Head!
