Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eric Harmon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harmon comes to the cage accompanied by Dead!. Max Savage is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Max Savage!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Dean Styles and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Harmon gets the takedown into side control.
Savage looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Harmon staying calm.
Savage tries to buck Harmon off but Harmon is having none of it.
Savage looking for a sweep but Harmon has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Harmon tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Harmon is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Harmon closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Harmon frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Savage is looking to improve his position but Harmon isn't that keen on the idea.

Harmon has hold of Savage's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Savage manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Savage tries to reverse the position but Harmon maintains control.
Savage is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Harmon stands up from mount. Strange move.
Savage keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Savage takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Harmon throws a series of punches but Savage avoids them all with ease.
Savage fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Harmon shoots and misses

and Savage counters with a takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Harmon isn't going anywhere.

Savage tries for a kimura but Harmon is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Harmon is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Savage's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Harmon slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Harmon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Harmon prevents Savage from improving his position.
Harmon is keen to just control but Savage is a slippery customer.
Harmon tries to pass the half guard into mount. Savage knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Harmon is tying to control. Savage wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Savage trying to hold on to Harmon's head to control him but Harmon postures up.

Savage looking for submissions off his back.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Harmon looks to land a combination but Savage avoids it well.

Savage gets caught flat footed, as Harmon shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Savage is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Savage escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Harmon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Savage is looking for a triangle here but Harmon uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Harmon dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Harmon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Savage moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Savage is trying to control here but Harmon has managed to regain half guard.

Savage is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Harmon is just riding it out for now. Savage eventually gives up the hold.

Eric Harmon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Savage seems to be looking for submissions.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Harmon pulls Savage in close to prevent any damage.
Savage wants to pass the guard but Harmon is keeping the position.

Harmon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Savage's guard.
Harmon not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Harmon has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Harmon stands up over Savage, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Harmon passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Harmon is working to tighten is grip on Savage's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Savage has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Harmon is really squeezing tight and eventually Savage passes out! Harmon breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
