Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Harry Spackman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gonzo Bunga!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Ivan Kurochkin and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bunga tries to bum rush Spackman with a series of wild strikes but Spackman uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Spackman shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Spackman fails to land the takedown.
Bunga fails in his attempt to clinch.
Spackman checks the leg kick.
Bunga tries to clinch up but Spackman circles away and keeps his distance.
Spackman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Bunga is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Spackman blocks the strikes from Bunga.
Bunga avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Spackman.
Spackman is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Spackman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Spackman scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Bunga really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Spackman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bunga pushes Spackman off looking to stand but Spackman dives back in and keeps control.
Spackman seems to be working for a kimura but Bunga defends the submission attempt.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Spackman has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Bunga.
Spackman is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The fighters circle, before Bunga throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Spackman's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Bunga lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Gonzo Bunga!
