Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yanker Funker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Ladley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Yanker Funker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Ladley!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Atkins and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Ladley or perhaps it was just good defense by Funker which made him look bad.
Funker misses with a wild combination.
Ladley shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Funker as he avoids it easily.
Ladley looks gassed!

and Ladley counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ladley.
Funker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Funker kicks Ladley off and gets to his feet.
Ladley fails with an attempt to clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Funker.

Funker bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Funker postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Funker is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Funker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Funker trying to control the position from guard on top but Ladley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Funker has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Ladley takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Funker closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ladley to the mat! Ladley manages to get full guard.
Funker wants to control from the top but Ladley keeps moving.
Funker works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Ladley is staying active underneath Funker, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Funker gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Funker tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ladley swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yanker Funker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ladley circles away from the clinch attempt.
Funker tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ladley paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Ladley shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Funker napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Funker is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ladley stands up and we're back to a striking position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yanker Funker dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Ladley punishes Funker's body with a nice straight punch.

so Ladley counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Funker is controlling Ladley's posture.
Funker throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Ladley thows a big elbow that misses.

Funker looking for a guillotine here but Ladley defends easily.

Ladley is fighting to break Funker's control of his arms but Funker is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Funker throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

and Funker counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Ladley can't keep his opponent in guard - Funker advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Ladley looks like he's trying to stand up.

Ladley is looking to regain half guard here but Funker keeps moving and retains side control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Funker working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Funker connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Ladley some visible discomfort.
Ladley wants to control but Funker postures up.
Ladley wants to get back to his feet but Funker drags him back down.
Ladley gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Ladley is trying to break the clinch but Funker is controlling him.

Funker shoots in for a takedown but Ladley shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Funker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Funker wants it to stay on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Funker tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ladley wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Funker is pushing Ladley's head away, looking to escape. Ladley manages to hold on to the position though.

Funker has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ladley avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Chris Ladley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
