Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rike McMylly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian McGuire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brian McGuire!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McMylly tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
McMylly bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
McMylly moves in looking to clinch but McGuire pushes him off.
McGuire misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McMylly.
McMylly throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McMylly tries to clinch but McGuire is having none of it.
McGuire shoots in and drives through. McMylly sprawls well.
McMylly misses with a body shot.
McGuire avoids a kick to the body.
McGuire misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

McGuire scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
McMylly wants to control but McGuire postures up.
McGuire trying to control the action but McMylly is working from the bottom.
McMylly pushes McGuire away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, McGuire gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

McMylly manages to work his way to half guard, despite McGuire's best efforts.
McMylly wants to get back to his feet.
McGuire is controlling the pace.
McGuire trying to control from half guard but McMylly is working away.
McMylly knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McGuire on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
McGuire wants to pass to mount but McMylly is defending the position.
McGuire looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
McMylly on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if McMylly tries to get out of the position.

McGuire is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McMylly defends it well.

McGuire seems to be working for a kimura but McMylly defends the submission attempt.
McMylly misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
McMylly avoids the body shot from McGuire.
McMylly throws a nice outside leg kick.
McGuire keeps the fight on the outside.
A low kick from McGuire is predictable there
and McMylly counters with a head kick. That will keep McGuire thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like Brian McGuire has been cut.
McMylly tries to close the distance and clinch up but McGuire swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from McMylly lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and McGuire has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from McGuire and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
McMylly throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McMylly throws a shot from downtown. McGuire moves away and avoids it.
McMylly goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

McGuire drives through with a takedown into guard.
McMylly is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
McGuire trying to control the position from guard on top but McMylly is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McMylly controls McGuire momentarily but McGuire frees himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McGuire wants to pass the guard but McMylly is keeping the position.
McMylly striking off his back but it's not causing McGuire any problems.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


McGuire takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
McGuire throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent McMylly stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
McGuire doesn't succeed with the takedown
and McMylly counters with a big head kick but McGuire shrugs it off.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

McGuire shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. McMylly is trying to defend but McGuire finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
McMylly is looking to control McGuire's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can McMylly avoid being mounted?

McGuire is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, McMylly has managed to free his arm - good work.

McGuire is looking for a kimura here.

McGuire is breathing heavily.

McGuire seems to be working for a kimura but McMylly defends the submission attempt.

McGuire is sneakily working for an arm triangle but McMylly sees it coming and defends easily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

McGuire seems to be looking for submissions.
McGuire wants to pass the guard but McMylly is defending well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

McGuire misses with a takedown attempt - McMylly sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

McMylly buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

McMylly throws a quick head kick that skims the top of McGuire's head.
McMylly feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to McGuire's calf.

Rike McMylly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A nice inside leg kick there by McMylly. That's going to slow McGuire down.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! McGuire crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from McMylly - the referee stops the clock and McGuire gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says McMylly. McGuire manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
McGuire tries for a takedown but McMylly sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Rike McMylly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian McGuire.
McMylly throws a nice outside leg kick.

McMylly forces McGuire back against the cage and clinches.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
McGuire bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McMylly's guard.

McMylly fails to land with a series of punches.

McGuire decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
McGuire wants to lay and pray for a moment but McMylly keeps working.
McMylly misses with some strikes from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McGuire is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

McGuire is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

McMylly is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
McMylly is trying to control but can't.
McMylly is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
McMylly leaves McGuire with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
McMylly fails in his attempt to clinch.
McMylly wants to slow McGuire down by chopping away at his legs.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
McMylly lands a head kick. McGuire smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
McMylly throws a jab but it's blocked by McGuire.
McGuire shoots in but McMylly avoids the takedown attempt easily.

McMylly gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows McGuire to score an easy takedown into full guard.
McMylly wants to stand and escape but McGuire is having none of it.

McMylly is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that McGuire can do to turn this around?

McGuire works his foot free and advances to mount.
McMylly is desperately trying to improve his position but McGuire has a good base and remains in mount.
McGuire unloads with some shots from mount but McMylly bucks and avoids them well.

McGuire is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but McMylly is surviving well by controlling McGuire's body position as best he can.
McGuire can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as McMylly is looking to escape.
Rike McMylly is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
McMylly wants to hold on but McGuire pushes him away.
McMylly is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because McGuire is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
McGuire can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as McMylly is looking to escape.
Brian McGuire has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

McMylly has left one of his arms exposed and McGuire doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. McMylly screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
