Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quinton Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dom Serrano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ellis comes into the arena with 5 minutes alone blaring out of the sound system. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Quinton Ellis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Dom Serrano!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Ellis misses.
Serrano fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ellis just misses with a punch to the body.
A telegraphed right hand from Ellis misses the target.

Serrano looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Ellis wants to get back to his feet but Serrano is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Ellis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Serrano on the ground.
Serrano trying to control the position from guard on top but Ellis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Serrano prevents Ellis from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Serrano shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Ellis is breathing heavily.
Ellis can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Serrano controls the pace.
Serrano trying to control but Ellis is working from the bottom.

Serrano gets to his feet. Ellis looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Ellis lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Ellis misses the shot to the body.
Serrano scores with a punch to the head.
Serrano uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ellis.
Quinton Ellis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ellis swings for the body but Serrano moves out of range.

Serrano drives through and clinches with Ellis against the cage.
Ellis has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Serrano escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ellis swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ellis stuns Serrano with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Serrano lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Serrano closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Serrano gets control of Ellis's arms and successfully pulls guard. Serrano will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Ellis has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Serrano is proving hard to escape from.
Serrano manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ellis manages to get himself to full guard.
Serrano slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Serrano decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ellis, up you get!

Serrano bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ellis wants to get back to his feet but Serrano drags him back down.
Ellis bucks up and tries to throw Serrano off but instead Serrano has got his back!
Ellis looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Serrano controls the action.
Serrano scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Ellis trying to get back to his feet but Serrano is in full control for now.
Ellis trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ellis manages to get to his feet, escaping the difficult position.
Ellis lands a nice hook to Serrano's body. Serrano takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Serrano rushes Ellis and presses him up against the cage.
Ellis has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Serrano tries to pull guard but Ellis won't allow it.
Serrano misses with a knee strike.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ellis wants to get back to striking at distance but Serrano won't allow it.
Ellis tries to break free but Serrano pushes him back against the cage.

Serrano jumps into guard, dragging Ellis to the mat.

Serrano looking for a guillotine here but Ellis defends easily.
Ellis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Ellis wants to stand but Serrano is controlling his posture from full guard.
Ellis wants to stand and escape but instead Serrano has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Serrano won't allow Ellis to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dom Serrano dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Ellis throws a hook to the side of Serrano's head but Serrano sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Ellis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Serrano was well out of range. Poor timing from Ellis.

Serrano clinches up against the cage.
The referee calls for Serrano to work.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Serrano. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Ellis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ellis is looking to wear down Serrano with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Serrano shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ellis but Ellis pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ellis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Serrano moves away.
Nice defenses there by Serrano.
Dom Serrano is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Ellis gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Serrano to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Serrano is standing up over Ellis. Ellis looks to escape but Serrano dives into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Serrano controls the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ellis tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Ellis is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Ellis is trying to stand but he's just given Serrano his back.

Serrano is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Ellis is tapping out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Dom Serrano!
