Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rashad Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiago Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griffin has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Thiago Alves has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves takes a swing at Griffin's ribcage but misses.
Griffin throws a head kick but Alves moves out of range.
Alves misses with the combination.
Griffin takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Alves misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nice cross by Alves.
Griffin walks into a jab.
A punch combination from Alves misses.
A slow jab from Alves misses its intended target.
Griffin tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Griffin is breathing heavily.
Alves bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Griffin's head backwards.
Alves lands with an overhand left.
Alves swinging wildly here.
Alves takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A right-left combo lands from Alves.
Alves connects with a body shot.
Alves uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Griffin has time to react.

Griffin is rocked!
BOOM! Alves lands a beautiful left hook that drops Griffin. Griffin tries to recover but Alves is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Griffin lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
