Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Misho Bang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paavo Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith stuffs the takedown.
Smith takes a swing at Bang's ribcage but misses.
Bang tries to clinch there but Smith circles away.
Bang swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Bang has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Smith is working away from the top position though.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Smith is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bang sees it coming and defends easily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Bang tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Smith paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bang throws a big shot that misses.
Bang looks to land a right hand but Smith moved out of range.
Smith keeps the fight on the outside.

and Smith counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Bang is breathing heavily.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Smith keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bang's head.
Smith loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Smith drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Smith jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Smith makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Smith passes Bang's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Bang knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.
Smith looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bang with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Bang tries to kick Smith off but Smith keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Smith connects with a nice short shot to Bang's temple.

Bang tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Smith has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Smith lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Smith won't let Bang get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Smith working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Bang turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Smith off and cradles Bang's limp body as Smith celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Paavo Smith!
