The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigues feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Ribeiro looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Rodrigues slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Rodrigues is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ribeiro has escaped the position, nice work there.
Rodrigues looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Ribeiro tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rodrigues wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Rodrigues has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Rodrigues trying to control but Ribeiro is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ribeiro working to try and regain half guard.
Rodrigues is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Ribeiro is surviving well by controlling Rodrigues's body position as best he can.
Rodrigues has isolated one of Ribeiro's arms. Ribeiro looking to fight him off but Rodrigues twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
