Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 2, fighting out of London, Steven Shaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Thunder!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thunder fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shaw sprawls well initially but Thunder persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Shaw is looking to control Thunder's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shaw avoid being mounted?
Thunder is trying to control. Shaw wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thunder is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Shaw is just riding it out for now. Thunder eventually gives up the hold.
Thunder is just content to waste time from the top position. Shaw takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Thunder stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shaw swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Thunder passes into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Thunder is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Shaw has managed to free his arm - good work.

Thunder wants to work for an arm triangle but Shaw is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Thunder is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Shaw sees it coming and defends easily.
Thunder keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Shaw wants to improve his position but Thunder is controlling well.

Thunder is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Thunder wants to control but Shaw is keeping him busy.

Thunder in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Shaw tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Thunder!
