Marlov's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The Imperial March. Ovechkin has chosen Kasabian - Fire as his entrance music. Yuri Marlov could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Alexander Ovechkin's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksandr Martynov and Dmitry Maklakov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marlov misses with a looping right.
Marlov swinging wildly here.

Ovechkin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Marlov to the mat! Marlov manages to get full guard.
Ovechkin is looking to work some ground and pound but Marlov has wrist control.

Marlov pushes Ovechkin off and gets back to his feet.
Ovechkin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Marlov throws out the jab.

Marlov is looking to clinch.

Marlov looks to land a combination but Ovechkin avoids it well.

It looks like Alexander Ovechkin has been cut.

Marlov clinches up against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ovechkin is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Ovechkin has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Marlov avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Marlov is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Ovechkin wants the takedown. Marlov is fighting it off but Ovechkin persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Marlov's guard against the cage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Marlov has his foot on Ovechkin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ovechkin works his way back into a safe position though.
Ovechkin makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Ovechkin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marlov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ovechkin content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Marlov is looking to stand up but Ovechkin isn't so interested in that idea.
Marlov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Marlov pushes Ovechkin off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Marlov throws a jab when Ovechkin was well out of range.

Marlov throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Marlov lands a left and a right that send Ovechkin crashing to the mat, dazed. Marlov thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Marlov throws an overhand right that lands on Ovechkin's shoulder, as Ovechkin tries to avoid the shot.

Marlov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ovechkin.
Marlov misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Marlov is breathing heavily.
Marlov throws a nice looking combination but Ovechkin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ovechkin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Marlov.
Yuri Marlov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Marlov fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ovechkin on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Marlov throws a hook to the side of Ovechkin's head but Ovechkin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Marlov thows a body shot but no joy.
Ovechkin swats away the attempt to clinch by Marlov.
Marlov lands with a cross.

That has opened up Alexander Ovechkin's cut even more.
Marlov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
The fight stays on the outside here - Marlov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Ovechkin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Marlov looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ovechkin lands a few punches from side control.

It looks like Yuri Marlov has been cut.
Marlov is working to avoid the ground and pound but Ovechkin connects with a decent elbow.
Marlov takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ovechkin lands a decent elbow from side control.
Ovechkin cracks Marlov with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Ovechkin looks up at the clock and then as Marlov takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Ovechkin smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Ovechkin lands a strong strike to the head of Marlov. That's dazed him! Ovechkin looking to finish here. Marlov is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Ovechkin lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
