PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fred Siciliano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edward Stout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stout is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Slaughterhouse-Wack MC's. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Fred Siciliano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Edward Stout!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Siciliano closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Stout to the mat! Stout manages to get full guard.
Siciliano stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stout swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Stout working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Siciliano doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Siciliano manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Stout is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Siciliano drops back looking for a leg! Stout is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stout manages to kick Siciliano off! Siciliano jumps back into Stout's guard.

Stout wants to control but Siciliano is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Siciliano drops back looking for a leg! Stout is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stout manages to kick Siciliano off! Siciliano jumps back into Stout's guard.

Siciliano thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Stout tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Siciliano wants to control from the top but Stout keeps moving.
Stout looking for a sweep. Not yet Stout, not yet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Stout scores with a sloppy right hand. Siciliano should have avoided that one.
Siciliano misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Stout.
Siciliano throws a hook to the side of Stout's head but Stout sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Siciliano shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Siciliano wants to pass the guard but Stout is defending well.
Stout is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Siciliano slows the pace down in half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Siciliano gets to his feet - Stout follows without any prompting.
Siciliano throws the left hand but Stout avoids the punch easily.
Siciliano lands a jab.

Siciliano has Stout pulled in close to control his posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Siciliano is looking to stand up but Stout isn't so interested in that idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fred Siciliano dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Siciliano feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Siciliano is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Stout had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Siciliano defends it easily.
Stout wants to sweep here but Siciliano controlling him for the moment.

Siciliano drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Siciliano jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Oh but Stout is tightening it up a little... Siciliano has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Siciliano reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Siciliano taps out! nice BJJ there by Stout!
