Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sheldon Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Tugnutt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sheldon Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ron Tugnutt!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tugnutt swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Green fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Tugnutt.
Green tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tugnutt sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Green somewhat.
Green clinches up with Tugnutt and pushes him back against the cage.
Green wants to break free but Tugnutt has control.
Tugnutt pulls guard effortlessly.
Tugnutt keeping moving, preventing Green from controlling successfully.
Green works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Tugnutt looks like he's trying to stand up.
Tugnutt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Green. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Green seems to be working for a kimura but Tugnutt defends the submission attempt.
Tugnutt wants to get back to full guard.

Green stops Tugnutt from getting back to his feet.

Green is working to avoid the ground and pound but Tugnutt connects with a decent elbow.
Green is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Tugnutt in side control lands a decent elbow.
Green regains half guard.
Tugnutt is pressing down on Green's thigh, looking to free his foot. Green is holding on for now.
Green is trying to stand back up but Tugnutt is controlling him

Green shoots in for a double leg but Tugnutt sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Tugnutt rushes Green and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Tugnutt tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Tugnutt scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Green tries for a takedown but Tugnutt manages to get underhooks.

Green goes for a takedown attempt but Tugnutt pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Tugnutt throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Green fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tugnutt avoids it really well and circles away.

Horrible takedown by Green or perhaps it was just good defense by Tugnutt which made him look bad.

Tugnutt takes a swing at Green's ribcage but misses.
Green tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tugnutt paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Green misses with a jab, cross combination.
Green has Tugnutt up against the cage in a clinch.
Tugnutt digs a right hand underneath Green's ribcage. Green let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Tugnutt stalls.
Tugnutt pulls guard.
Green is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Tugnutt is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Tugnutt has escaped and now he's on top!
Tugnutt controls from within his opponent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Ron Tugnutt will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!
Green tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Tugnutt counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
A slow jab from Tugnutt misses its intended target.
Green looks to clinch
and Tugnutt counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Green wants to get back to full guard.
Green is looking to escape.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Tugnutt lands a nice short elbow.
Green trying to hold on to Tugnutt's head to control him but Tugnutt postures up.

Green wants to get back to his feet.
Tugnutt thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Green's head.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Tugnutt misses with a two punch combination.
Sheldon Green is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Green wants to clinch but Tugnutt slips to the side
and Tugnutt counters by clinching up.
Green can't break the clinch.
Tugnutt pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Green has taken the fight to the clinch.
Green misses with a short punch on the inside.
Green misses with a hook from the clinch.
Green struggles to land a body shot inside as Tugnutt controls his hands.

Tugnutt breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Tugnutt counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Green's guard now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Tugnutt won't allow Green to get back to his feet.

Green is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tugnutt's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tugnutt's back!

Green is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Tugnutt is defending well though. Green let's go of the attempt for now.
