Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kamaneto Funaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nelio dos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nelio dos Santos is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Kenichi Hosakawa and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Funaki chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before dos Santos can pounce on him.
Funaki blocks a head kick by dos Santos.
Funaki shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. dos Santos is trying to defend but Funaki finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Funaki is looking to pass dos Santos's guard but actually dos Santos recovers to full guard.
Funaki passes into half guard.

dos Santos wants to stand and escape but Funaki is having none of it.
Funaki drops back looking for a leg! dos Santos is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and dos Santos manages to kick Funaki off! Funaki jumps back into dos Santos's guard.

Funaki seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but dos Santos does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Funaki is trying to control. dos Santos wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Funaki dodges the punch combination from dos Santos.
dos Santos tries to clinch up but Funaki circles away and keeps his distance.

Funaki wants to hold on but dos Santos pushes him away.
dos Santos wants to finish this one by submission but Funaki is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from dos Santos.
BOOM! dos Santos connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Funaki is wriggling around trying to escape.

Funaki is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but dos Santos pulls his head out easily.

Funaki tries to roll over but dos Santos keeps him under control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
dos Santos feints and as Funaki raises his hands in defense, dos Santos changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
And thats the end of the round the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Kamaneto Funaki will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Funaki tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but dos Santos swivels and escapes.
Funaki fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but dos Santos avoids it really well and circles away.
Funaki looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for dos Santos!

Funaki wants to pass to mount but dos Santos is defending the position.
dos Santos pushes Funaki off and gets back to his feet.
dos Santos moves in looking to clinch but Funaki pushes him off.

and Funaki counters with a shoot takedown. dos Santos fights it but they end up in guard.

Funaki wants to control from the top but dos Santos keeps moving.
Funaki postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
dos Santos wants to stand and escape but Funaki is having none of it.
Funaki thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Funaki is sneakily working for an arm triangle but dos Santos sees it coming and defends easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
dos Santos moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
dos Santos has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Funaki should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, dos Santos has tightened it up now! Funaki should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
