Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tommy Starr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yimi Yuskevich!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yuskevich fails with an attempt to clinch.
Starr tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Yuskevich swivels and escapes.
Starr shoots in for a takedown but Yuskevich shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Yuskevich throws a body punch but Starr moves out of range.
Starr misses with a takedown attempt - Yuskevich sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tommy Starr. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Yuskevich lands a body shot.
Starr closes the distance looking to clinch

so Yuskevich counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Yuskevich trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Yuskevich keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Starr's head.
Yuskevich is stalling in the full guard.

Yuskevich trying to control the position from guard on top but Starr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Yuskevich drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Starr dives on top into guard.
Yuskevich is looking to stand up but Starr isn't so interested in that idea.

Starr has gone for a leg lock! Yuskevich slips out almost immediately though and dives into Starr's guard.
Yuskevich stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Starr swivels though and keeps the full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Yuskevich accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Yuskevich loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Yuskevich must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Yuskevich trying to control but Starr is working from the bottom.

Starr isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Yuskevich stacks Starr on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Yuskevich!

Yuskevich lands some shots froms side control.
Sloppy strikes there by Yuskevich.
Starr manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Starr is breathing heavily.

Starr is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Yuskevich doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Starr.
Yuskevich works his way to full guard. Good work.
Yuskevich wants to stand but Starr is controlling the position.

Starr postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Yuskevich is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Starr, into his guard.

Starr avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Starr is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Yuskevich is aware though and is defending well.
Starr keeping moving, preventing Yuskevich from controlling successfully.

Starr has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Yuskevich can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Starr looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Yuskevich decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Starr, up you get!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Starr walks into a stiff left hand from Yuskevich.


It looks like Tommy Starr has been cut.
Yuskevich connects with a crisp jab.
Yuskevich loads up on a big right hand but Starr slips the punch.
Yuskevich goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Yuskevich lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Starr at a distance.

Yuskevich moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Starr goes down! Can Yuskevich finish him!?


Starr is rocked!
Yuskevich pushes down on Starr's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Yuskevich wants to lay and pray for a moment but Starr keeps working.

Starr looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Yuskevich is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Yuskevich blocks the strikes from Starr.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yimi Yuskevich dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Tommy Starr's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Yuskevich scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Starr on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Starr is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Yuskevich lands an elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Yuskevich decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Yuskevich lands with a nice body punch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Yuskevich connects with a high kick.


Tommy Starr's cut is getting worse.
Yuskevich fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Starr manages to avoid it.
Yuskevich lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Starr moves forwards but Yuskevich connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Yuskevich fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Yuskevich thuds a left hand into Starr's body.
Yuskevich throws a shot to the body.
Yuskevich lands a nice looking body shot.
Starr avoids the head kick by Yuskevich.
Nice uppercut there from Yuskevich.
Yuskevich is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Starr rather than just go for the knockout.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Tommy Starr's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Yuskevich throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Starr has his takedown stuffed
and Yuskevich counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Yuskevich lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Starr at a distance.
Starr takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
A nice combination there by Yuskevich.


Jeez, Tommy Starr's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Starr looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tommy Starr's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
