PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Kranchenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Koslov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kranchenko might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to 99 Problems. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Kranchenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Koslov!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Valeri Chadov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koslov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kranchenko's waist but Kranchenko gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Koslov off to one side.
Koslov is looking to clinch.

Kranchenko darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Kranchenko is keen to just control but Koslov is a slippery customer.
Kranchenko thows a huge punch but Koslov dodges it nicely.
Kranchenko wants to lay and pray for a moment but Koslov keeps working.
Koslov is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kranchenko scores with a couple of nice shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kranchenko thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kranchenko wants to lay and pray for a moment but Koslov keeps working.
Kranchenko throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Koslov looks like he's trying to stand up.

Kranchenko is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Koslov defends it well.
Kranchenko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kranchenko stops Koslov from getting back to his feet.
Kranchenko tries to stand and escape but Koslov is controlling the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kranchenko shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Koslov counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Koslov pushes down on Kranchenko's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Kranchenko is breathing heavily.

Koslov throwing shots but Kranchenko is blocking nicely.
Well, if Koslov is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Koslov is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kranchenko has managed to free his arm - good work.

Koslov content to control rather than advance.
Kranchenko keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Koslov missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Koslov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kranchenko doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Koslov.
Koslov is trying to control the action in half guard but Kranchenko is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Koslov tries to clinch up.
Koslov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kranchenko tries to avoid it but Koslov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kranchenko to the ground. Kranchenko escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Koslov tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Koslov feints and as Kranchenko raises his hands in defense, Koslov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kranchenko is trying to keep Koslov in close.

Koslov controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Kranchenko manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Koslov wants to control but Kranchenko is having none of it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kranchenko is landing with some decent strikes but Koslov is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Koslov is squirming around, avoiding Kranchenko's attempts to control the action.
Kranchenko throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.

Kranchenko working for a submission but Koslov is keeping him at bay.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Koslov tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Koslov wants to get back to his feet.
Koslov is squirming around, avoiding Kranchenko's attempts to control the action.

Kranchenko with shots to the head and body - Koslov looks very uncomfortable down there.

Koslov wants to control but Kranchenko is having none of it.
Koslov avoids a strike by Kranchenko and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Kranchenko's guard! Fantastic escape!
Kranchenko is adopting a defensive guard.

Kranchenko is working an open guard so Koslov takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Kranchenko doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Koslov counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Kranchenko!
Igor Koslov has got the better of the ground game so far.
Koslov controlling the pace for now.
Kranchenko is in a horrible position here. Koslov smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Kranchenko has left one of his arms exposed and Koslov doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Kranchenko screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
