PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Josef Mauel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gracie Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie has chosen I SUCK as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mauel tries for a takedown but Gracie sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Gracie gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Mauel counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Gracie is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Mauel drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gracie looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gracie looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gracie!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mauel is breathing heavily.

Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Gracie postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Mauel is trying to get back to half guard.

Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Gracie is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mauel is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Mauel tries to improve position but can't.
Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Mauel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Mauel tries to bench press Gracie off him but Gracie keeps the position.

Gracie has hold of Mauel's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Mauel seems comfortable defending it but Gracie has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Mauel is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Mauel is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Gracie couldn't care less - he's delighted!
