Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Devon Rant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buddy BJ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). BJ has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

BJ shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. BJ showed some decent athleticism there.
Rant is trying to maintain the position but BJ is very close to passing his half guard.
Rant tries to get to full guard but BJ has control of the leg.
BJ is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
BJ looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rant with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Rant is looking for a sweep. BJ is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

BJ stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rant swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rant wants to hit a switch here but BJ passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Rant there!
BJ has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as BJ accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. BJ connects with a nice short shot to Rant's temple.
