Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Totoy Montillo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hammer Time!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Time avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Time forces Montillo back against the cage and clinches.
Montillo scores with a knee to the head.
Montillo wants a takedown.
Montillo has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Time avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Montillo.

Montillo jumps into guard, dragging Time to the mat.
Time must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Time trying to control but Montillo is working from the bottom.
Time stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Montillo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Time shoots in but Montillo avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and Time counters by moving into the clinch.

Montillo is looking to control Time's arms but Time gets an underhook and turns him. Now Montillo has his back to the cage.
Time fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Time drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Montillo gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Totoy Montillo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hammer Time.

Time pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Montillo shoots in but no luck this time.
Time tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Time fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Montillo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

and Time counters with a low kick, right behind Montillo 's knee.

Time with a poor takedown

and Montillo holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Time is trying to drag Montillo to the mat but Montillo just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Time looks gassed!
Montillo tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Time smiles and moves away.

Montillo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Time tries to avoid it but Montillo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Time to the ground. Time escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Time looks for the body kick but Montillo saw that one coming.

Time gets the takedown into side control.
Montillo is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Time throws a strike but Montillo avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Montillo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Time's guard.
Montillo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Montillo drops back looking for a leg! Time is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Time manages to kick Montillo off! Montillo jumps back into Time's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Montillo tries to stand but Time is controlling from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Time looking for a sweep. Not yet Time, not yet.
Time keeping moving, preventing Montillo from controlling successfully.
Montillo trying to stand up but can't free himself from Time's guard.

Time has his foot on Montillo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Montillo works his way back into a safe position though.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Time can do anything to dispel that myth.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Time has a takedown stuffed.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Hammer Time will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Montillo closes the distance but Time moves to the side
and Time counters with a two punch combo.
Time closes the distance looking to clinch
and Montillo counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Time fails with a takedown attempt.
Montillo dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Time. That did some damage!
Time is breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Time swings away with a body shot that misses
and Montillo counters with an inside leg kick.
Montillo tries to clinch up.
Montillo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Time sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Montillo somewhat.

and Montillo counters with a shoot takedown. Time fights it but they end up in guard.

Montillo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Montillo lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Time wants to get back to his feet.

Montillo decides to stand and escape the position.

Time pushes Montillo up against the cage in a clinch.

Montillo is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Time can't fight it off and eventually Montillo manages to take the fight to the floor. Time looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Time can't keep his opponent in guard - Montillo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Montillo stops Time from getting back to his feet.
Montillo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Time throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Time is trying to maintain the position but Montillo is very close to passing his half guard.
Montillo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Time keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Montillo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Time is just riding it out for now. Montillo eventually gives up the hold.

Montillo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Time sees it coming and defends easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Montillo has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Time defend it? Montillo steps over the head and cranks it - Time is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Montillo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Totoy Montillo!
