Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and MAD MAD (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, MAD MAD!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Fujiwara and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

MAD clinches up with Lee and pushes him back against the cage.

MAD has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lee uses from the top position.

Lee got a little sloppy there for a moment and MAD has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lee has managed to get both his arms back between MAD's legs - danger averted.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lee accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Lee throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as MAD works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Lee pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lee tries to clinch up but MAD circles away and keeps his distance.
Lee plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
MAD stuffs the takedown attempt from Lee. Lee gets slowly back to his feet.
MAD keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

MAD shoots in for a takedown but Lee shows good takedown defense.

Horrible takedown by Lee or perhaps it was just good defense by MAD which made him look bad.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

MAD closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

MAD ducks right into an uppercut from Lee.

MAD throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lee was covering up waiting for the punch and MAD finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Lee has momentary wrist control but MAD slips an elbow through the middle.
MAD sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lee's guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Lee has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. MAD is working away from the top position though.

MAD decides to return to a standing position.

MAD shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. MAD showed some decent athleticism there.
MAD misses with a head shot. Lee uses the momentum to regain guard.

MAD pushes down on Lee's leg and manages to get into half guard.
MAD throwing shots but Lee is blocking nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
MAD thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lee's head.
MAD takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
MAD drops an elbow to the side of Lee's head.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Lee rushes MAD and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

MAD manages to pull guard.

MAD is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Lee is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

MAD escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lee gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Lee counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Lee lands with a slapping head kick.
Lee moves in looking to clinch but MAD pushes him off.

MAD has Lee pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. MAD pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Lee tumbling to the mat - MAD dives into Lee's guard.

MAD tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

MAD MAD showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
