The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edwards dives in and grabs Powell's left leg, looking for a takedown. Powell pushes down on Edwards's head and hops out.
Edwards ducks under a wild hook from Powell.
Powell fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Edwards manages to avoid it.
Edwards shoots in looking for a takedown. Powell tries to sprawl out of it but Edwards keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Powell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Edwards shoots in for a double leg but Powell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Rederick Powell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shaun Edwards.
Edwards gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Powell.
Powell throws a nice looking combination but Edwards bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Powell throws a series of punches but Edwards moves out of range.
Edwards shoots for a takedown but Powell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Powell thows a left - swing and a miss!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Edwards slips under a jab.
Powell looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Powell swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Edwards.
Edwards avoids the body shot from Powell.
Edwards drops his hands momentarily and Powell takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Powell lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Powell.

It looks like Shaun Edwards has been cut.
A telegraphed right hand from Powell misses the target.

Powell lands with an uppercut that bounces Edwards off the cage and back into rage.
Rederick Powell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Powell lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Edwards at a distance.
Edwards throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Powell's waist but Powell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Edwards off to one side.
Edwards looks gassed!
Powell stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
A right-left combo lands from Powell.
Edwards takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Edwards ducks under a wild hook from Powell.
Powell throws an overhand right that lands on Edwards's shoulder, as Edwards tries to avoid the shot.
Powell closes the distance and lands a one-two.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Powell cracks Edwards with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

A jab-cross combination lands for Powell and sends Edwards crashing to the mat! Powell follows him down to the mat - Edwards regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Edwards is rocked!
Powell lands a big elbow - Edwards is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Powell!
