Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between cain velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Philip North (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Philip North!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
velasquez has a takedown stuffed.
velasquez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from North.
velasquez connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
North listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
velasquez throws a head kick but North moves out of range.
velasquez shoots in looking for a takedown. North tries to sprawl out of it but velasquez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. North manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

North takes the fight into the clinch.
velasquez could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
North tries to pull guard but velasquez holds him up against the cage and eventually North drops back down to his feet.
A right handed body shot lands from velasquez.
velasquez goes for a takedown attempt but North pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for cain velasquez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A solid leg kick lands there for velasquez.
velasquez tries for a takedown but North sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
velasquez blocks a head kick by North.

That's one minute gone in the round.
No luck for velasquez with that takedown attempt.
North connects with a stiff jab that staggers velasquez - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
