And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mark Penn!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Carmichael on the side of the head.
Carmichael jabbing away but nothing is landing.
The fighters circling - Penn throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Penn looks for a takedown but Carmichael sprawls well.
Penn misses the jab.
Penn swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Penn scores with the left hand. Carmichael knows he should have avoided that one.


It looks like Dresden Carmichael has been cut.
Carmichael throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Carmichael slips under a jab.
Penn tries to score a power double leg takedown but Carmichael sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Penn somewhat.

Carmichael closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Carmichael slows down the pace here.

Carmichael scores with a shot to the side of Penn's head.
Penn has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Carmichael is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Dresden Carmichael has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Penn.

Carmichael gets to his feet - Penn follows without any prompting.
Penn displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Carmichael throws out the jab.

Penn is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Penn wants to break the clinch but can't.
Carmichael lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Still in the clinch, Carmichael scores with a nice short uppercut.
Penn wants a takedown but no success here.
Penn looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Penn changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Carmichael fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Penn missing with a left hand there. Carmichael was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Penn.
Carmichael slips under a jab from Penn.

Carmichael lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Penn or not.
Carmichael lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Penn backwards.


It looks like Mark Penn has been cut.
Carmichael prevents a takedown attempt there.
Carmichael lands with a short punch from the clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for Carmichael.
Penn tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Carmichael just stands there and leans against the cage.

Penn pulls guard effortlessly.

Carmichael stands and steps away. Penn gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Carmichael lands a really nice looking cross but Penn seems unphased.
Carmichael throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Penn on the side of the head.
Penn takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Penn shoots in and drives through. Carmichael sprawls well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Penn misses the shot to the body.
Penn thows a left - swing and a miss!
Carmichael changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Carmichael moves into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dresden Carmichael dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Carmichael ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Carmichael lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Penn at a distance.
Penn tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Carmichael is able to avoid easily.
Carmichael feints and then cracks Penn's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Penn down.
Mark Penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Penn falls off balance throwing a combination
and Carmichael counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Penn on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
A jab lands there for Carmichael.
Dresden Carmichael is winning the standup battle so far.
Penn on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Carmichael connects with a looping right hand.


Penn is rocked!
Carmichael lands with a right that hurts Penn. Penn looks to clinch but Carmichael throws a short knee that drops Penn. This one is all over!
