The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sabre defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pepper.

Pepper goes for an armbar but Sabre turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Sabre.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Sabre's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Sabre controls from within his opponent's guard.
Sabre wants to control from the top but Pepper keeps moving.
Pepper bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sabre's guard.

Sabre manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pepper manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sabre throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Pepper will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Pepper shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sabre sprawls well. Sabre wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pepper gets slowly back to his feet.
Pepper ducks right into an uppercut from Sabre.
Nice takedown defense from Sabre. No joy for Pepper on that attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Sabre misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Horrible takedown by Pepper or perhaps it was just good defense by Sabre which made him look bad.

Sabre unloads a knee to the mid-section. Pepper lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Pepper is pressed against the cage. Sabre pushes back and unleashes a big elbow that really hurts Pepper! Two more big strikes from Sabre and Pepper crumples to the mat and taps out furiously due to the strikes!
