The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Vasa. Marco shrugs it off though.
Marco looks gassed!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Marco stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Marco wants it to stay on the feet.

Marco gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Marco keeping moving, preventing Vasa from controlling successfully.
Vasa would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Vasa stands and steps away. Marco gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Vasa throws a head kick that misses.
Vasa thuds his shin into the meat of Marco's side.

Vasa shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Marco's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Vasa loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vasa postures up.
Vasa is looking to work some ground and pound but Marco has wrist control.
Vasa is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Vasa throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Marco works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Marco shoots and misses
and Vasa counters with a nice low kick that buckles Marco's knee momentarily.
Vasa shoots in looking for a takedown. Marco tries to sprawl out of it but Vasa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Marco manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Vasa fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Marco sprawls well initially but Vasa persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Vasa wants to take a breather but Marco is having none of it.
It looks like Vasa is going to stand back up.

Vasa lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Vasa is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Vasa tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Marco.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Marco slaps away a takedown attempt from Vasa, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Crack! A monster head kick from Vasa and Marco falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Vasa!
