Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brenton Modano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chet Lanksy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lanksy is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Modano keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lanksy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lanksy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Modano paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Lanksy shoots in for a double leg but Modano sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Modano is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lanksy's half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Lanksy manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Modano's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lanksy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Modano connects with a nice short shot to Lanksy's temple.

Modano is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Lanksy has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Modano is looking to defend but Lanksy has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Modano! Lanksy pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Modano taps out and this one is all over!
