The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Giles fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Patterson, pushing him back against the ropes.
Giles looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Patterson has Giles pushed against the ropes.
Giles is trying to break the clinch but Patterson is controlling him.
Patterson goes for a takedown in the clinch but Giles prevents it.
Patterson fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Patterson turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Patterson tries for a kimura but Giles is defending well.

Patterson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Patterson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Giles stops Patterson from passing to mount.

Giles defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Patterson.
Patterson is looking to work his way around to Giles's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Patterson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Giles is trying to defend against the choke here but Patterson has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Patterson Tightens the hold and Giles taps out furiously! Patterson displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
