PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Theo Dor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marshall has chosen Graduation Bitches as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Marco Marshall enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Theo Dor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marco Marshall!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Radbod Blank and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dor swinging wildly here.
Dor lands a jab to Marshall's midsection.
Dor tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Marshall was well out of range. Poor timing from Dor.
Marshall has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Dor finds it's way round the side to connect with Marshall's head.


It looks like Marco Marshall has been cut.
A jab from Dor misses.
Dor misses with a body shot.
Dor slaps away a takedown attempt from Marshall, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Marshall moves forwards but Dor connects with a nice, crisp jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dor displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Marshall swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Theo Dor is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Marshall ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Marshall drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Marshall wants to control but Dor is keeping him busy.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marshall wants to control but Dor is keeping him busy.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Marshall tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Despite being in the dominant position, Marco Marshall just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dor fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Marshall avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A slow jab from Dor misses its intended target.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dor throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Dor throws the left hand but Marshall avoids the punch easily.
Dor clobbers Marshall with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Marshall throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Marshall moves away from the strike by Dor.
Dor fails to land with a series of punches.
Dor defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Marshall.
Dor throws a series of punches but Marshall moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Marshall fails to land the takedown.
Marshall slips a jab from Dor.
Dor misses the shot to the body.
Marshall walks into a left hand.
Dor misses with a few strikes there.
Theo Dor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dor misses with the combination.
Marshall misses with a head kick.

Dor connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Dor misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Dor misses with a body shot.
Dor missing with a left hand there. Marshall was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Marshall throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dor was covering up waiting for the punch and Marshall finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Marshall wants to control from the top but Dor keeps moving.
Marshall is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Marshall scoring with some ground and pound.
Marshall controls from within his opponent's guard.

Dor working for a triangle but Marshall defends it easily.
Dor is trying to keep Marshall in close.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Dor is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Marshall defends well.
Marshall working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Dor's head.
Marshall controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Dor not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Marshall is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Dor is trying to keep Marshall in close.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Marco Marshall will probably get the nod - 10:9.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Dor throws a shot from downtown. Marshall moves away and avoids it.
Dor throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A telegraphed right hand from Dor misses the target.
Dor moves into range and connects with a jab.

Marshall shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Marshall is controlling the pace.

Dor is looking to improve his position.
Dor wants to get back to full guard but Marshall has passed into side control.
Marshall sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Marshall tries to control but Dor wriggling away.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
A nice elbow there by Marshall.
Marshall lands a nice shot to the head.

Dor's corner calls for a 1-2. Dor obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Marshall takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Dor misses the shot to the body.

Marshall shoots in and bounces Dor off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Dor escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Marshall gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Marco Marshall.
I think Marshall has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
