Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cassius Slay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Hain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slay's entrance music is Wu-Tang Clan - Triumph. A fine choice. Hain has chosen Time Frame by Dom and Roland as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Cassius Slay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Hain!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hain tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Slay swivels and escapes.
Hain takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Hain fails with a takedown attempt.
Hain takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Hain shoots in but no luck this time.
Cassius Slay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Hain.
Slay moves out of range as Hain strikes.
Hain fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hain shoots in for a takedown but Slay shows good takedown defense.
Slay keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Slay darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Slay gets a clinch.
Hain drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Hain has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Slay uses from the top position.

Hain looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Hain looks gassed!
Slay wants to stand but Hain has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Slay trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Hain throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Slay has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hain is proving hard to escape from.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hain closes this distance looking for a takedown but Slay circles away.
Hain has a takedown stuffed.
Slay looks to land a left hand but Hain moved out of range nicely.
Slay misses with a low kick.
Cassius Slay is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Slay tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hain swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hain shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Slay but Slay pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Slay displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hain.
A jab from Slay finds it's way through Hain's defenses.
Hain shoots for a takedown but Slay saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Slay cracks Hain with a good jab.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hain is defended easily by Slay.

Hain tries to clinch up but Slay circles away and keeps his distance.
Slay uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Hain uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Slay.
Hain blocks a jab.
Slay tests Hain's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Hain displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Slay throws out the jab.
Hain throws a right and a left that Slay avoids nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cassius Slay dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Slay tries to clinch there but Hain circles away.
Slay moves in looking to clinch but Hain pushes him off.
Hain shoots in but no luck this time.
Hain shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Slay as he avoids it easily.

Slay has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hain blocks a body shot from Slay.
Hain changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Slay fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Cassius Slay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Hain.

Slay fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hain, pushing him back against the cage.
Hain avoids the elbow strike from Slay, against the cage.
Slay lands with a short shot to the head.
Hain goes for a takedown attempt but Slay pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Hain will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Hain ducks under a wild hook from Slay.
Hain shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Slay as he avoids it easily.
Sam Hain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Slay cracks Hain with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Hain tries to keep at a distance but Slay has taken the fight into the clinch.
Hain's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Hain tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Slay just stands there and leans against the cage.
Slay is struggling to control the position.
Slay lands a body punch.
Slay gets through Hain's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Hain is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Slay gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Hain avoids a wild elbow strike from Slay.

Slay unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Slay lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Slay lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Hain.
A nice left hand lands by Slay.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Slay lands a nice shot to the body.
Slay lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Hain.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hain tries to score a body lock takedown but Slay shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Slay pushes off an throws an elbow but Hain leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Hain fails to land the takedown.
Hain swats away the attempt to clinch by Slay.
Hain swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Slay closes the distance and pushes Hain back into the cage.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Slay takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Hain jumps guard but Slay stands there with Hain around his waist. Hain gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Hain tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Slay just stands there and leans against the cage.
Slay is looking to control Hain's arms but Hain gets an underhook and turns him. Now Slay has his back to the cage.
Slay is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hain can do to turn this around?

Slay is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hain is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Slay to the mat. Slay regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Hain wants to control from the top but Slay keeps moving.
Cassius Slay is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Slay wants to sweep here but Hain controlling him for the moment.
Slay has Hain pulled in close to control his posture.

And that's the end of the fight!
Cassius Slay showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Slay, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
