Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rob McCaig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonah Wasswa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wasswa is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by assassin muse. On his way into the ring it seems that Rob McCaig has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Rob McCaig seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCaig takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Wasswa lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Wasswa throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Wasswa tries a head kick but it misses.
McCaig lands an overhand right.
Wasswa throws a hook to the side of McCaig's head but McCaig sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Wasswa has McCaig up against the ropes in a clinch.
McCaig has had enough of the clinch but Wasswa keeps him there for the moment.

McCaig jumps guard.

Wasswa is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! McCaig is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! McCaig has escaped and now he's on top!
McCaig slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

McCaig has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
McCaig stops Wasswa from standing up.

Wasswa pushes McCaig off and gets back to his feet.
McCaig swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Wasswa.
Wasswa doesn't manage to clinch there - McCaig circles away.
Wasswa throws a jab when McCaig was well out of range.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Wasswa scores with a jab to the head.
Wasswa lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Wasswa instigates a clinch.
Wasswa drops to a knee looking for a takedown but McCaig gets the underhooks and prevents it.
McCaig is working for takedown but Wasswa is calmly controlling the position for now.
Wasswa keeps control of McCaig as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Wasswa wants to break the clinch but can't.
McCaig wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Wasswa is trying to work for a single leg takedown but McCaig pulls him back up using the underhooks.

McCaig escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

McCaig shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Wasswa manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
McCaig is in close to Wasswa's body, working some short punches and elbows.

McCaig drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Wasswa manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now McCaig has Wasswa in his guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Wasswa postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! McCaig is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Wasswa, into his guard.

Wasswa closes the distance and clinches up with McCaig, looking for a takedown. Wasswa pushes McCaig against the ropes but McCaig circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

McCaig stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wasswa swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Wasswa is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McCaig defends well.
McCaig tries to free his leg and advance position but Wasswa is retaining full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Wasswa jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Wasswa moves in looking to clinch but McCaig pushes him off.
Wasswa needs to keep his hands up - McCaig had a free shot at his head there.
Wasswa is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McCaig.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for McCaig, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
