Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mabishiro Sakamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Standa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mabishiro Sakamoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Simon Standa!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Jorge Garcia and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Standa shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Standa was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Standa can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sakamoto is looking to escape.

Sakamoto tries to hold on but Standa pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sakamoto is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Sakamoto slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Standa lands a nice short elbow.
Standa is looking to take a break and control but Sakamoto is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Sakamoto tries to lock up and control but Standa gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Standa postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Sakamoto looks a forlorn figure.

Despite being in the dominant position, Simon Standa just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sakamoto has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Standa throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sakamoto counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Standa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sakamoto looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Sakamoto kicks off Standa and gets to his feet.
Standa tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sakamoto swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Simon Standa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Standa accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Sakamoto is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Standa is aware though and is defending well.

Simon Standa comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Standa has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
