Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nigra Boss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo da Cunha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). da Cunha has chosen Racionais MC's - Negro Drama as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rodrigo da Cunha!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

da Cunha closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Boss to the mat! Boss manages to get full guard.
Boss avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

da Cunha advances position into side control!

da Cunha is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Boss knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

da Cunha takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

da Cunha drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Boss manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now da Cunha has Boss in his guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
da Cunha wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

da Cunha drops back, looking for a kneebar! Boss looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Boss looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Boss!

Rodrigo da Cunha showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

da Cunha turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and da Cunha manages to end up in side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
