Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ervin Castillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pekko Persvako (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Persvako has chosen In Flames - Crawl through knives as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ervin Castillo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pekko Persvako!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castillo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Castillo wants it to stay on the feet.

Persvako closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Persvako is trying to get an arm triangle but Castillo is defending well.
Persvako is staying tight to Castillo's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Persvako has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Persvako shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Castillo as he avoids it easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Castillo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Persvako was well out of range. Poor timing from Castillo.

Castillo bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Persvako tries for a takedown but Castillo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Persvako feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Castillo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Persvako is fighting to break Castillo's control of his arms but Castillo is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Persvako won't allow Castillo to get back to his feet.

Persvako postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Persvako is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Castillo stalks Persvako and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Persvako's face. Persvako staggers backwards, shaken.
