And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kenny Kline!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Fedor Mirinova and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kline shoots in for a takedown but Komitata shows good takedown defense.

Kline throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Komitata was covering up waiting for the punch and Kline finishes the takedown easily into guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Komitata holds on and takes a little breather.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Komitata is trying to control the position but Kline postures up.
Komitata can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kline controls the pace.
Kline tries to free his leg and advance position but Komitata is retaining full guard.
Kline loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Kline trying to move into half guard but instead Komitata has managed to sweep!
Kline wants to sweep here but Komitata controlling him for the moment.
Komitata stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kline swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kline throws and low kick but Komitata moves out of range easily.
Kenny Kline seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kline fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Komitata manages to avoid it.
Kline throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Komitata.
Komitata moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
No joy there for Kline, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kline fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Kline tries for a takedown but Komitata sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Nikac Komitata has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenny Kline.
Kline tries to score a power double leg takedown but Komitata sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kline somewhat.
Komitata really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kline shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kline was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Kline prevents Komitata from improving his position.
Komitata tries to kick Kline off but Kline keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Kline throwing shots but Komitata is blocking nicely.
Komitata is not content to let Kline control the position.
Komitata is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kline works his way into full mount!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Komitata is squirming around, avoiding Kline's attempts to control the action.
Komitata tries to hold on but Kline postures up.
Kline tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Kline shoots in but no luck this time.
Komitata moves in looking to clinch but Kline pushes him off.
Komitata scores with a head kick.


It looks like Kenny Kline has been cut.

Komitata fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kline, pushing him back against the cage.
Komitata landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Kline stalling the fight.
Komitata is pressed up against the cage. Kline has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Komitata down to the mat. Komitata avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Komitata tries to clinch but Kline moves out of range.
Kline shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Komitata but Komitata pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nikac Komitata has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenny Kline.

Kline shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kline tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Komitata swivels and escapes.
Kline is breathing heavily.
Kline throws a leg kick that is checked
and Komitata makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Kline really felt that one!
A nice leg kick lands there from Komitata.
Komitata throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Kline.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Komitata moves into the clinch successfully.
The referee is keeping an eye on Komitata - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Komitata connects with a knee to the head.


That has opened up Kenny Kline's cut even more.

Komitata unloads a knee to the mid-section. Kline lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Kline breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nikac Komitata is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Komitata throws a nice head kick!


The cut above Kenny Kline's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Komitata throws a leg kick which misses Kline's front leg but catches the back leg as Kline tries to avoid it.
Komitata throws a head kick that Kline semi-blocks.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Kline crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Komitata - the referee stops the clock and Kline gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Komitata. Kline manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

A head kick from Komitata lands but Kline takes it in his stride.

Komitata forces Kline back against the cage and clinches.
Komitata scores a nice knee to the body.
Komitata will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Kline up against the cage.

Kenny Kline's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Kline is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

A frustrated look appears on Kline's face as he tries to break the clinch.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kenny Kline's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
