Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gunnar Sampson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, George St Perrie!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
St Perrie keeps the fight on the outside.
Sampson shoots for a takedown but St Perrie saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Sampson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Sampson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
St Perrie stuffs the takedown.
St Perrie misses with a few strikes there.
Sampson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has St Perrie pinned against the cage. St Perrie gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gunnar Sampson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sampson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but St Perrie avoids it really well and circles away.
Sampson is breathing heavily.
St Perrie lands a body shot.

St Perrie clinches up with Sampson and pushes him back against the cage.

St Perrie throws a sloppy head kick and Sampson moves out of range easily.

St Perrie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sampson as he avoids it easily.
St Perrie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sampson is fending him off so far but St Perrie persists. Nope, Sampson circles away and we're back to standing.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Sampson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Sampson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Sampson looks to throw an elbow but misses.

St Perrie's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

St Perrie gets caught flat footed, as Sampson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

St Perrie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

St Perrie has clasped his hands together around Sampson's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Sampson parries the strikes from St Perrie easily there. St Perrie is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Sampson to escape.

St Perrie stands up and we're back to a striking position.
George St Perrie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sampson takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
St Perrie leaves Sampson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
St Perrie rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sampson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

St Perrie slips a nice elbow through Sampson's hands, connecting with Sampson's forehead.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
St Perrie looks to land a strike but Sampson avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

St Perrie breaks from Sampson's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Sampson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
St Perrie with shots to the head and body - Sampson looks very uncomfortable down there.
St Perrie lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

The fighters are battling for position here. Sampson manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as St Perrie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
