Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Salty Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bung Ji Park (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Salty Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bung Ji Park!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Park tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Park is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jones's half guard.
Jones keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Park is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Jones has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Park is working away from the top position though.
Park wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working.
Jones keeping hold of Park's head, controlling as best he can.
Jones tries to get to full guard but Park has control of the leg.

Jones is staying active underneath Park, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Park is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Park seems to be working for a kimura but Jones defends the submission attempt.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Park fails with the takedown.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Park tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jones just stands there and leans against the cage.

Jones drags the fight down to the ground.
Jones keeping full guard, as Park tries to pass.
Jones preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Jones is trying to keep Park in close.
Jones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Park trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Park works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Jones trying to hold on to Park's head to control him but Park postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bung Ji Park dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Park throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Park moves in looking to clinch but Jones pushes him off.
Salty Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Park tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jones swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Jones has managed to clinch.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Park obliges.
Park just leaning against Jones, taking a breather.
Park tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Park tries for a takedown but Jones manages to get underhooks.
Jones tries to pull guard but Park won't allow it.
Park throws an elbow but it misses.
Jones prevents a takedown attempt there.
Jones doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Jones tries to break the clinch but Park is controlling the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jones tightens his grip and picks Park up, before dumping him to the ground. Park manages to land in guard.
Jones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Park pushes Jones off and scrambles back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jones misses with a takedown
and Park counters with a big head kick but Jones shrugs it off.
Park fails in his attempt to clinch.
Jones fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Salty Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Park wants to clinch but Jones slips to the side

and Jones counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jones.
Jones wants to control from the top but Park keeps moving.
Jones won't allow Park to get back to his feet.
Jones trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Park is adopting a defensive guard.
Park keeping full guard, as Jones tries to pass.
Park keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.
Park really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Park is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Park is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Park shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jones as he avoids it easily.

Park gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Park is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jones is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Salty Jones dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

and Park counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jones!
Park wants to control the pace but Jones is squirming around nicely.
Jones tries to hold on but Park postures up.
Park prevents Jones from getting the reversal.

Park controlling from mount.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Park wants to control the pace but Jones is squirming around nicely.

Jones is squirming around, avoiding Park's attempts to control the action.
Park looking to ground and pound but Jones is blocking nicely.
Jones wants to control but Park is having none of it.
Park landing punches.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Park scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Jones?

Park jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Jones is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Jones and Park has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Jones is not content to let Park control the position.
Jones gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones gets back to full guard.

Park got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jones has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Park has managed to get both his arms back between Jones's legs - danger averted.
Jones is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Jones throwing short punches from the bottom.

Jones had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Park defends it easily.
Jones is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jones is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Park is aware though and is defending well.
Park tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Bung Ji Park.
Well Park has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
