Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nick Wallis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Andrews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Andrews has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nick Wallis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Andrews!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Andrews gets a takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Andrews is looking to take a break and control but Wallis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Andrews is thwarting Wallis's attempts to control the position.
Andrews should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Andrews is pressing down on Wallis's thigh, looking to free his foot. Wallis is holding on for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Andrews has eaten all the pies!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Wallis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Andrews moves away.

Andrews is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Wallis won't allow Andrews to pass to mount.
Wallis wants to improve his position but Andrews is controlling well.

Andrews wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wallis keeps working.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Wallis lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Andrews at a distance.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wallis throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Andrews stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Nick Wallis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Andrews shoots for a double leg takedown but Wallis sprawls well. He's pushed Andrews's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Andrews throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wallis paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Wallis misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Andrews.
Wallis dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Wallis connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Andrews doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Wallis lands a slapping body shot.
Wallis scores with a nice strike.
Wallis scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Andrews doesn't seem bothered though.

That was a close second round but I would say that Nick Wallis will probably get the nod.

Wallis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Andrews is trying to buck Wallis off.
You can see the frustration on Andrews's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Wallis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Andrews manages to get back to half guard.
Wallis content to control rather than advance.

Wallis is taking a breather. Andrews says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Andrews is trying to maintain the position but Wallis is very close to passing his half guard.

Wallis wants to free his trapped foot but Andrews is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Andrews has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wallis is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Andrews is looking to improve his position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Wallis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Andrews was well out of range. Poor timing from Wallis.
Wallis lands a jab to Andrews's midsection.
Wallis is looking to wear down Andrews with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Andrews shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Nick Wallis.
I think Wallis has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
