Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brent Squires (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivok Smolar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Brent Squires has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Brent Squires seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Ivan Kurochkin and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Squires fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Smolar swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Good exchange - Smolar coming out on top.
It looks like Brent Squires has been cut.
Squires throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Smolar to counter with a crisp jab.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Squires moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Squires scores with a hook to the body. Smolar takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Squires throws a solid leg kick but Smolar takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Squires.
Smolar displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Squires.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Squires is looking to work some ground and pound but Smolar has wrist control.

Squires tries to hold on but Smolar pushes him away.

Smolar stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Squires shoots in for a takedown but Smolar shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Smolar throws a right hand that Squires ducks under and follows up with a left that Squires also avoids with ease.

Squires tries to move to mount but Smolar blocks the move with his legs.

Smolar parries the strikes from Squires easily there. Squires is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Smolar to escape.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Smolar avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Squires.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Squires looking to sit in guard and control but Smolar gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
