Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Savage comes into the arena with "Killing In the Name Of" by Rage Against the Machine blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage tries to close the distance and clinch but Alvarez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Alvarez tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Alvarez wants to get back to his feet but Savage is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Savage decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Savage looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Savage slips a nice elbow through Alvarez's hands, connecting with Alvarez's forehead.
Savage is controlling the pace.
Savage passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Alvarez!

Alvarez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Savage. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Savage has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Alvarez is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Savage yanks on the arm and Alvarez is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Savage.
